Front wheelarch splashguards

Does the 944 have splashguards under the front wheelarches across the model range from the beginning?

I ask because it looks like the 924 2.0 (1976-1985) does not have any despite having fixing holes, and the 924S (1986-1988) only has a front left splashguard and only then behind the front tyre.

I know the 944 has wider front arches but wonder if the guards will fit on a 924 as well?

You're probably better off without them - they trap salty road-dirt, leading to the inevitable if you don't regularly remove them to clean. []

On the plus side though, they stop you blowing your cylinder head off when you drive through a big puddle!

Do they? I have the stupid air intake in the lowest point of the wheelarch (nice design, Porsche []) and always avoid puddles for that reason!
