Front windscreen rubber trim

I've just bought two rubber trims to fit either side of the front windscreen. They were missing on my 924 when I bought it. They are handed but it's not clear which is which. Each has double sided tape which looks like it's meant to stick to the windscreen BUT I suspect I am missing some mounting clips? There are some black clips which look like they are rivited to the body but they don't seem to have any function. Can anyone advise?

I've recently fitted these rubber seals to my 2.0 and they simply push into the space behind the black metal screen surround, no clips are needed.

I didn't need any additional glue as they were a snug fit.

Thanks Paul. Apparantly there are clips made which slide into the rubber trims but they sound pretty grim to fit. I agree the rubber trims do seem a snug fit so I'll think I do what you suggest.

I'm familar with the screen assembly now, having removed the screen from an early 944 to fit into the 924 Cab project. The 944 had a new screen and trims fitted just over a year ago, so everything is pretty much as it should be. on the "A" pillars there are what appear to be rivets, onto which a metal clips fit. These metal clips then grip the screen surround trim - a black aluminium thing - there are three parts to this - one across the top of the screen, and one on each pillar. The rubber is glued to the trim, not the windscreen.

Hope this helps,

Tref.

Thanks Trev. Now I understand. I was thinking that the metal clips somehow held the rubber. So I have all the metal trims already in place, it was just the two rubber strips which were missing, so I'll get these fitted and stuck to the trim NOT the windscreen!
