I cant remember when I last bought a pair but how different is 'OE' and Bosch blades. Both are listed on design911, 1 for £15 for the pair and 1 for £30 for the pair.
Where else can they be bought and can they be bought from Halfords?
many thanks

The genuine porsche ones have a smaller overall profile i think, both will do the job,but one of the bosch blades is a bit chunky looking compared with a real one?

I've found that only the Porsche ones clear the screen properly, especially the bottom left hand corner (LHD, so presumably bottom right on a RHD). The originals seem to bend round the curve better.

Additionally, the Porsche ones have a cut out to take the little rubber insert that stops the two blades becoming tangled, although I did run without this for a while many years ago before I realised that the PC had thrown it out with the old blades and never had any issues.

the bosch blades have the slot for the buffer. The buffer stops the tapping noise at the end of the wiper stroke (parking side) .In porsche blades the slots are many and you need to know where to fit the buffer, on the bosch there is only one slot . I would rather have the genuine article..........

For me, the end result of trying all 3 - OE Porsche, Bosch and Halfords - was a resounding and surprising success for....
Halfords own.

Th eBosch ones were worst by far - squeeked on the leftward stroke, fatter than the originals, didn't follow the curve at the side of the screen, stood off the screen when parked. Because that outer edge of both sides wasn't touched, it wasn't cleaned. Hopeless as that's exactly the bit of screen you need when parking.

Original Porsche ones did everything right but were, quite simply IMHO, overpriced for wipers.

Halfords own are absolutely fine too - clean the outer edges of the sweep, follow the curvature of the screen, work well even at excessive road speed, don't fall apart in two weeks flat, and are completely quiet. Price at ca. £8 ea IIRC. And we get through loads of wipers in the North West due to more-than-normal precipitation [8D]

I've never had the tapping problem with any of the wiper sets so happily haven't needed the rubber spacer. [:)]

When pricing up blades for my C4S it was actually cheaper to buy them from OPC with discount than Halfords!
Give your local one a call before you commit.....

Dont piss around with any other brand. Buy PIAA. They are brilliant! End of.

Top wiper: 15"
Lower wiper: 18"

But Kasspa, forgive me if I'm wrong but wasn't that for your 996?

No such luck for my 993 [&o] as I'm a big fan of getting stuff from the OPC.

I think for the 996/997 and any normal car you can get away with aftermarket wiperblades (wiperblades.co.uk is a very good supplier and comes in strong boxes). The 993 has a very curved screen. Make sure you have a stiff drink before walking to your local porsche spareparts shop as the set of 3 (front & rear) with car club discount came to 50 quid!
