'Frozen Rotors'

Hi all,

I'm potentially going to replace my worn out rear discs with discs source from 'frozen rotors' in the USA. www.frozenrotors.com. The thing is the shipping is the same cost for 4 discs as it is for 2. I only need 2 so was looking for someone who might want a pair themselves so that the shipping cost could be shared.

The shipping as it stands is about $180 for the 4 discs. That is to get them to Gatwick where I can collect them from. Ideally, you'd then collect them from me (Crawley) or I can bring them to you if you aren't too far away. Just to be clear I'm looking to share the shipping so you would pay $90 plus the costs of your discs.

So, if you are interested, let me know. I'll then get in contact with you and we can work out the finer details, what discs you want, how we'll handle the money aspect, etc, etc,

Thanks

Gez

am i missing somthing? whats wrong with GSF or OPC for the disks, sounds like when youve covered shipping and the cost of the disks, you would have been cheaper easier and quicker to purcahse over here?
whats so special about these disks?

Well, they are claimed to last a lot longer. I didn't/don't want to try to 'persuade' people they are better - hence the link above. I'm looking for someone who, like me, thinks they are worth trying.

As I only need a pair it does make it non-viable once you add in the shipping. But if that shipping can be shared it puts it into the 'worth a punt' category.

Unless your doing a lot of track days then the standard OEM rear discs are pretty good even then just upgrading to a better rear pads is will help.

If you are doing more track work or just giving it some real hammer on the road it's the fronts that take the worst of it. About the cheapest upgrade are the Performance Friction front discs & pads
Performance Friction Site

996 Performance Friction parts in the UK at PartBox

They don't do the rear discs but they do a matching rear pad set.

You can of course spend silly money on brakes with sets from AP and Brembo.

That's the reason I only need rears. 6 pot callipers and PF discs arranged for the front, with Pagid RS29's all round. Wallet now empty!!
