Fuch Alloy refurbishment

Very few people can refurbish Fuchs wheels with the correct finish to the rims. In fact, I don't know who can in the UK.

The polished finish is much easier, and plenty of people should be able to do that, but it will get frowns from the purists.

Canford Classics refurbish Fuchs alloys to factory specification i.e. anodised rims and correctly finished petals (painted or polished) but I'm sure they would be happy to polish the rims instead. I believe Nick Moss at Early 911 does the same.

Nick at Early911 did an amazing job bringing my wheels back to the anodized finish and making the petals stand out. I love them!

It comes down to what you want to spend and how particular you are about originality. As Oliver says,
very difficult to replicate the original anodised rims but I've had good reports on Nick and Camberford.
BigSi's wheels look great by the way.
My previous 3.2 was a concours queen but Ive grown out of that now thankfully .

Yes, the problem occurs when you want to get one wheel done with an original matching finish.

Get 4 done and you probably wouldn't notice.

Sorry for hijacking this thread, My Fuchs aren't to bad apart from at some point some bozo put wheel weights on the rim and the glue residue is still there. Anybody recommend a good way to remove it without damaging the anodized finish?

My Fuchs wheels had weights on the outside when I bought the car. I had the wheels re balanced and the tire centre fixed the weights to the inside and removed the weights from the outside of the rims. I removed the black adhesive with Autoglym tar remover and finished the wheels off with t-cut metal polish. It was hard work to carefully cleaning off the black adhesive by hand, but worth it. Here is a picture of one of the wheels now.

Hi Wayne

It is a labour of love. I used an old credit card as a scraper, so as not to damage the rim, and my finger nails. I did all the work with the wheels on the car, so a bit of back ache thrown in for good measure. If you can take the wheels off and work on a bench, that would make things easier.
