The previous owner of my car had them diamond cut and matt lacquered but the lacquer has just chipped on the rim edge when I touched a piece of wood reversing into the garage. Having asked around everyone says that the lacquer will struggle to bond successfully with bare machined aluminium. Not sure why these refurb companies still offer this process. Going have to get them stripped and then re-anodised, hopefully they won't be too expensive as there is no repairs required, but the rims will need polishing before anodising.ORIGINAL: 993 C4 I've just had mine refurbed on the Cab by Spit 'n Polish in Tonbridge, Kent. Satin black powder coated centres and diamond cut rims, but finished with a Matt lacquer to give a more subtle, less restored appearance.
