Can anybody recommend a Fuch wheel restorer please? Mine are 16" x 6" and 7" front and rear. Good condition rims with no kerbing and very little pitting, black centres. Basicaly want the same appearnce but to look like new - on the inside of the wheel as well. Can anybody recommend, perferably in the North West please?

I'll happily vouch for the quality of Nick's Fuchs wheel refurbishment.... and the other well known Fuchs refurbisher is Biaggio in Northants - he frequently advertises on eBay.

Thanks Nick. They look real nice. Just the distance a problem. I've decided to use "The Wheel Specialist" who have a base in Manchester. I've seen some work they have done and it was good. Their not the cheapest, but I guess it costs to have a top job done. Thanks anyway.

No. They powder coat both face and inside of the wheel and then machine polish the rims to a mirror finish. No lacquer or anodising. My cars taxed 6 months of the year only and used in dry weather. It should be easy for me to keep the mirror shine on them - I hope :)

A couple of probs here, polished rims not original !
Powder coating must be baked while the wheel is spinning (some special machinery needed here) to get an even coat or it may be difficult to balance. []

Yeah, but they look good. They'll also polish off the centre caps leaving the Porsche crest ingrained in black. Not original I know but I do like the look. Take a look at their site. I've seen wheels off a friends MK1 GT3 re-furbed and steel wheels they chromed from a Morgan and they were both spot on. They are www.thewheelspecialist.co.uk

Yes it costs to get a top job done with properly polished, anodised and detailed rims, but that kind of butchering on a Fuchs rim can be done for aound £45 per rim. And it wil devalue the rim. Your choice.

Well there done, and I'm chuffed to bits with them! Obviously the work I was having done wasn't going to be to everybodies taste but I'm very happy. Concerns about "de-valuing" my wheels is really only relevant when it comes to future re-sale of the car - which is something not on my agenda as this is my idea of an iconic Porsche (well, ever since I was 8yrs old and my Dad bought a 924 Turbo and gave me the Porsche bug). Take a look yourself and draw your own conclusions....
