I stumbled across a number of videos by Brian Clay, who has been a licensed mechanic for 20 years at Rony's Car Pros. He is one of the greatest experts of all time when it comes to boosting your fuel economy. The bloke knows absolutely everything about such matters and can teach us all so much that we dont know!!

Please bear in mind that it is quite compicated and you will never have considered such methods to boost your fuel economy so please keep an open mind...

Brian Clay is god

Hope this helps!

Luckily i manage to save fuel in the '44 by using the company car for things that dont involve fun... like B&Q, sainsburys etc

Other DIY and food retail outlets are available [;)]

lol quality 'Rather than searching for parking, park at the first spot you see'

cmon thats not the way of the porsche driver, we need the one furthest away from any other car that nobody has any excuse to be walking past, preferably in the shade of a (non-shedding bird-free) tree and in plain view of your destination and at least one security camera.

my fuel economy is improved by taking the bike to work, but then undone by going for a drive when i get home (to warm the engine and dry the car, i count that as maintenance)

Mine is improved by not driving like a tool ;). I do use mine daily mind you.

I nearly gave up on going for economical cars years ago when I had my 1.3 Ka about 5 years ago. On the motorway that couldn't do more than 34MPG no matter how careful you were. The Focus 1.6 afterwards did 35MPG, and the Pug 306 GTi-6 did 33MPG average, and got up to 39MPG onto the motorway. Porker is between the Pug and the Ka MPG wise I think.

With any car, if you have less power, you drive it harder to keep up with traffic. With the more powerful cars, you barely use the throttle to keep up with traffic (up to a point).

Because my computer's from the stone age there was no sound on that for me...it just looked like some p*sshead in a Escort Cab telling me how he's alright to drive after 7 pints of Export. "I know you and you know me...ow longerv you known me for?...av i've ever crashed thiz car?...at the end..at the end of the day...is that my pint?"

His videos are like seeing David Icke live!

He does have eerily similar mannerisms to the Waterboy actually.
