Fuel Filling a 944 Turbo Cab

Has anyone had a problem putting fuel into a Turbo cab or S2 Cab. Mine is a very slow filler, with the pump nozzle cutting out every few seconds. Is it a design fault or is it likely that I have a blockage somewhere?

My turbo is quite a slow filler and my 924S before it wasn't the speediest either.

The biggest problem I have though is that if I push the nozzle in all the way I end up getting it stuck in the filler pipe, the nozzle seems to hook behind the metal of the restricters in the filler neck.

The first time I ever filled my 924S up I got the nozzle totally stuck in the car! luckily that particualr petrol station had a garage workshop behind it. The guys from the garage took great amusement in spending twenty minutes freeing me from the pump [&:]

I now take great car when filling up, but still had a little scare the other week with the turbo when it took a couple of attempts to withdraw the nozzle. You don't half feel a berk when you manage to anchor your Porsche to a petrol pump (it spends enough time at them anyway)[:)]

In my experience, it has a lot to do with the pump itself, and the cut-off trigger being set too low. There are garages that I have tried to avoid because of this problem.

And I don't run a 944.

Absolutely no problem with my cab, nor any of the 4 coupes I've had. Something must be amiss.

Welcome by the way, I think you're the first turbo cab.

certainly there's one pump at my local Shell garage which I avoid like the plague - takes absolutely yonks to get anything out of it - might try the upside-down trick next time though.
