I want to replace my fuel filter on my Lux model and the nuts connecting to the filter are very tight.Iam concerned that they may break off or damage the pipe so I would appreciate any advice to replace the filter.
thank you

Soak in 'Plus-Gas' for 24 hours, then try again.
If they're still tight soak again for a further 24 hours.

I've used it for years and given sufficient time it will almost always free up the offending nuts/bolts.

You can make your own plus gas - paraffin and diesel.

I recommend trying it over a number of days for if the pipes ring off you`re into awkward expensive repairs.

On another note I am amazed at the lack of recommendation from the forum generally when asked "what should I look out for when buying a 944" for one issue that will wreck your 944 (turbo in particular) is an old blocked fuel filter (and most 951`s are running around on 20 year old fuel filters with loadsamoney spent on shiney go faster bits) where a simple restriction in the filter will lean out your engine.

It is all about proper servicing. My specialist replaced the fuel filter every 2 years. If you buy a proper service kit from Porsche it will include the fuel filter.

No but if the unions are rusted to pieces you`ll need to replace the pipes, an awkward job to say the least (which is why a lot of cars have an old tired fuel filter)

Ive been wanting to do this but I cant find the fuel filter? Can anyone advise hwere it is on a S2. Thanks

Very easy. It's just in front of the fuel tank on the RHS of the car. You can see it if you take the rear right wheel off.

They come off easily on a well maintained car that's had them replaced on schedule. A car that's been scrimped on will be a complete pain as it will be rusty and cruddy over too many years
