Fuel flow test results and cold starting issue

Done the fuel flow test on my 1985 2.5 n/a and after 30 seconds had a surprising 1500ml rather than the 850ml.
I say surprising as when i've cranked the fuel rail nut and ball there seemed very little pressure.
Pretty noisy pump still which I thought would of have gone with the new fuel rail on.
Another issue is the cold starting basically a right bugger pretty much only jumps but when warm she'll turn and go on the turn of the key.
Car has new coil, full service items and new ht leads and new fuel rail.

I got the same flow rate on my lux as you are describing there. The pressure in the fuel rail will slowly drop when the engine isn't running.

Perhaps the cold starting issue is related to the fuelling issue you think it has?

There is a check valve right after the fuel pump. It's supposed to hold the pressure in the fuel delivery pipe while the engine isn't running. Maybe it's stuck open and let's the pressure escape and thus requires a lot of cranking before the fuel gets into the cylinders?

Any chance of a pic? the pump is right under the back off the car and i can't see any other valve type thing just the filter and fuel pipes to the fuel rail.

The part that attaches the banjo to the pump has a valve inside it. I believe that's what Jarmo is referring to.

Argh ok will look at that over the weekend.
Having a pull and fiddle with various hoses and connectors whilst trying to start got it going so will need a bit more investigating.
Ticks over nicely now set the idle valve up and left it running for a while to try and run the super fuel through and clear and dirty lines. Fan cut in to which was nice, after though she wouldn't start so going to have a look at the ref sensor next.
