I agree with the above. With the emergence of optimax type fuels it is not as essential as it once was. However, I was advised by a Bosch fuel injection specialist many year ago to use a dose of STP or Redex. Contrary to the instructions on the pack he advised that you should run the fuel tank down to almost empty and pour the whole bottle of additive into the tank thus ensuring a very high concentration. I have been doing this to all my fuel injected cars for the last twenty years.

That dosage sounds like it would be good for cleaning the injectors, but not sure on the effect on the rest of the engine [] Personally I'll stick with pumping 70ltrs of VPower through as fast as I can as the optimum cleaning method []
