Fuel Injector Cleaner

Does anyone use a particular fuel injector cleaner that they think is good. I've just bought a brand called 'FORTE'. It was double the price of 'STP', but apparently it is far better (Or am I a mug).

I use the 99p bottles of Redex every three months or so but just be warned if you have never done this before you may dislodge some crap from the fuel system and cause more problems than you already didn't know yo had if you follow my thoughts. Recently my friend put some injector cleaner into his 180,000 mile Golf GTI and ever since for the last few weeks it intermitently misfires and runs badly as if something has been disturbed maybe in the fuel tank, changing the fuel filter hasn't cured it.

I've used the FORTE product. Nick, my local independent, gave me a bottle to try after the last service. He puts a bottle in a year and reckons that if you run on Optimax there's not much to be gained from using other additives regularly, just once a year for a tidy up...so to speak.

I put it in before our WOTY to Holland - 1000 miles over Easter. Can't say I really noticed much difference.
