Fuel injectors 1987 911 3.2 carrera

I have 1987 911 3.2 carrera targa. Following ignition and emission problems (failed MOT), and welcomed assistance from Charles Marsland and Steve Edwards, and advice from Nigel at T911, my local garage has identified the fuel injectors as the likely issue. The injectors have been removed and sent to a specialist for cleaning and refurbishment. They have now been returned with the diagnosis that there is corrosion on the filter baskets caused by water in the fuel system. They further advised that the injectors could not be cleaned and would need to be replaced. The original Bosch injector is no longer manufactured and not available. Porsche do supply a replacement injector but this is not currently available in UK. Porsche (OPC) have them on back order but say they could take weeks or months to be available. In any event the Porsche option is expensive at around £280 per injector. I would be interested to know if anyone has used or can recommend an aftermarket option, or any other advice welcomed. Thanks

Thanks, checked it out on eBay, the part checker on the listing indicates it doesn’t fit my vehicle. I have contacted the seller for clarification. Thanks again. Colin

Reading an article in 911 and Porsche World Issue 226 dated Jan/2013 on Fuel Injectors for late 1980's Porsche Models indicate new ASNU Performance Injectors EV14 can be adapted to the various specification of these vehicles including Carrera 3.2s. API Distributors such as Neil Bainbridge at BS Motorsport, Westcott 01296 658422 is mentioned and probably worth contacting.

Hi Phil, thanks for the advice. the specialist in Scotland who tried and failed to clean and refurbish has checked with ASNU without success. they are saying they can’t recommend an alternative. I will give BS motorsport a call in any case.

A used set for refurb may be an option but they may be as bad as the ones I have. Still worth considering though. Thanks
