Hi Guys,
Just wondering how difficult it is to change the above as mine has a crack on the glass and the black part is starting to blister why is that? Also are they available to buy new or used.

Best Regards

I've removed one before and I vaguely remember that you can prise it out using a flat bladed screwdriver either side. I think that it sits in a (very tight) rubber seal. Be careful though because its easy to mark the dash. Use a tiny smear of washing up liquid or similar to aid re-fitting.

Yes - use a flat blad screwdriver - wrap some oinsulating tape (better grip and lee chance to scratch) and wiggle it out from the rubber seal. May be worth poking some wd40 around the seal or at least using a cocktail stick to make sure the rubber and the unit are not stuck due to age. You can get secondhand units - but it may not be much better than the one you have. New is expensive however.

Don't you just love the finesse of the language filter on this forum [:D][:D][:D][:D]

Cocktail stick, cockpit, cockerall, Scunthorpe....

Beware washing-up liquid! It sometimes has acidic components and can cause metal to corrode over time. (I know this to my cost.)

You may be better to use a highly inert detergent, such as photographic wetting agent instead, or some of that spray-on lubricant that is intended for window/sunroof/Targa seals. The assembly lubricant that comes for use with suspension bushes should be OK as well.
