OK guys I need some input
I have aquired a brand new fuel pump from what I was told a 924
the guy had it in his garage for years never used still got he plastic stopper on the one end
been under the car and it looks the same but the code don't match with a porsche part
genuine BOSCH, part No: 0 580 254 975-390
any body know how I can check if its ok before I pull mine off

Give S.A.M.E.S in Southend a ring, they are Bosch agents of the very helpful kind, able to supply obscure parts (how about a kit to fully refurbish the internals of the 924 breakerless distributor [induction coil, rotor and all the colour coded screws]) and may be able to cross reference the number for you.
go here< http://www.locallife.co.uk/southend/enginetuning3.asp > and you will find their number bottom right

The technical update for 1981 quotes a bosch pump code of 0580 254 967 so it is quite likely that your pummp code is Porsche but pre 1981. Does it have a removeable check valve in the outlet?
