Fuel smell in the cabin....Calling the Guru's

Hi gents done a search of this forum but nothing seems to come up, so i will ask.

Got the car out of hibination this weekend, and god am i getting a smell of petrol in the cabin...

Any pointers, a net search mentions filler necks and filler caps etc.. is there anything that goes on the 996 that is common.

Check the 'O' ring in the filler cap. They are prone to splitting.

Other than that, it is a pretty rare occurrence. It could be the carbon canister in the front wheel arch, or a vent or fuel pipe loose or split, but I'm only guessing. Whatever it is, it needs sorting sooner rather than later.
