Fuel smell

I have noticed a slight fuel smell from the near side of the car around the front wheel, the smell goes when the car is switched off and sat for a while, took it to my Indi for an oil change they noticed it and did some checks and could not find anything, i ran out of time as i was waiting for the car, not sure if anyone has experinced this?
