Fuel Tanks

I am Having a mare....about every5 miles I have to clean out the in line fuel filter and the filter in the fuel pump as they are getting block with little brown bits and starving the carbs of fuel (cruising ok but no hard acceleration).

Long sentence I know but I needed to get it out of my system. Has anyone had this before, is there a way of stopping it happening without replacing the tank!

If I need to replace the tank, does anyone know how much and the best place to get one.

I need to sort something before the Ace cafe run. Looking for a quick fix.[:(]

Hi Jon
There is a product called Por15 that can solve this problem. Its a tank sealing kit they do. Basicaly you need to take out your tank, clean it with the kit and then seal it.
I have heard good things about this and will do it myself eventually. A word of caution though it needs to be done by the letter or its trash.

You can get it from Frost restoration

There are a few Forum users who have done this and I am sure they will add their experiences!

Not really a quick fix though[:(]

Yes I have done this and had no probs Gav and I have a chat about this stuff I did say the only thing I saw that could go wrong is if you don't do it by the book.

I did get a head start I used a very high powered jet wash industrial and jetted out the tank this made the tank like new inside but to be sure just incase I had damaged the seals with the jetting I used this stuff no probs what so ever

to get it done before t6he 14th you will have to get a move on. mine took 3 weeks to do with the drying time inbetween stages OK I did leave it a while but it will take 7-10 days to do it right.

sorry

maybe me neither... replaced my rear callipers only to find the master cylinder is knackered too, never rains huh. If I can get one this week i'll be there.
otherwise i'll be in the other car... parked around the corner out of sight.[]
