Hi first post here.
Bought a 2007 Boxster from Kenny Dunn in Edinburgh last year It has now got 50,000 miles on the clock. Get Kenny to service the Boxster . Love the car which will only be used in summer.
I live on the Isle Of Bute and finding it increasingly difficult to get high octane fuel
Is it possible to put in unleaded fuel with a high octane booster.

Couple of notes on my car. If the Boxster has been stitting for a while it smokes when firing up the engine. Have noticed if I let the engine run for a few minutes on idle then it will not smoke when citing up the engine.

The oil temperature oil light is temramental sometime flashing all the time when driving. Other times it works normal. I understand how important it is to know your engine is not over heating so need to get this fixed. Kenny say's its just a faulty ( switch - light )

Last summer my wife and I toured quite a few of the western Islands in the Boxster one of the best holidays I have had. In late June I am doing Islay and Jura for a long weekend as the misses is away with her friends so looking forward to that.

Having taken my old Boxster to Islay and Jura many times I'm sure that you'll have a great time. I've always said that the best definition of an optimist that I know is; 'a convertible driver who lives in the Western Isles!'

Smoke from a Boxster when starting up is perfectly normal. It's a result of oil lying in the (horizontal) pistons and is a 'feature' of boxer engines.

Hope you have a great Summer of motoring.

Your Boxster will run fine on standard u leaded as it has knock sensor which will adjust the timing to suit.

Agreed, I have 2006 Cayman which has happily done 65k miles on regular unleaded. It occasionally blows a smoke screen on a cold start up, especially if it has only been moved a short distance before being parked, so nothing to worry about on either count.
