Hi, I currently have a 'double decker' intercooler which I think could do with replacing with a big full bay cooler.
I have seen Blownsix coolers can get big, and arn't to bad price wise.
Anyone got veiws on coolers, where I could get one / cost ect.
Engine still on CIS, not efi with the 3.2 inlet everyone goes for.
Thanks

I am also using a Kokeln and am pleased with results. While not full bay it has a deep core and the cast alloy design that acts as a good cooler. On my CIS we saw 470-480bhp/ Currently undergoing EFI conversion and will stick with the Kokeln.

Nathan,

What's so bad about Blown6? A while back, I was tempted by their I/C designs (but never got around to purchasing) - 'looked' quite good! (If pictures on the Internet can be entirely believed.) It is just the Customer Service that's a bit shoddy, or do people allege that the I/C's build quality isn't too good?

I thought Kokeln was the respected pinnacle of Intercooler builders, circa 2002... But I thought hadn't been selling so many recently and had gone into decline. (Could be wrong on this point.)

What's old "PorschePhD" fitting these days?

The B6 964t intercooler is a bad copy of the real thing, if you look at a porsche 964t cooler and the B6 unit the cores are quite different, i'm not saying the B6 one doesn't work, but i will say it won't be a patch on the real thing. Taking this into consideration is it really worth loosing your rear wiper for? The AC in these cars is crap but you have to ditch this too to get it to fit.
The B&B, Kokeln, Andial style intercoolers are proven to work, and have the benifit of retaining the rear wiper and AC.
However, I would prefer to have a thinner core with a larger surface area. The real 964t cooler is about as good as you can get up to about 500bhp, but they are rare and as i've mentioned they do require the loss of your rear wiper and aircon, it's a fair trade though for the performance it gives.

I'm quite taken with the GSF cooler, it's large, thin, and very cheap. A friend has a custom made intercooler that is in a similar style to this and it is handling over 600(real)bhp. His is a little bigger and it may have better cores but it's on the same principle as far as design goes. If i was in the market for a new cooler for a 930 and i couldn't find a genuine 964t one i would be buying this. I'm not sure if you retain the wiper with this cooler, or the aircon, you'd have to ask. But, i would bet that this is better than the B6 offering

Tom, many people like you thought they'd give the B6 a go.

Lots of people were very unhappy with the product and B6 just ignored them. They blew it.

Stephen was last known to me using B&B IC's but some people had problems with those too.

I think a genuine 964t IC is the way to go.

I know where Jon is coming from the with the GSF, just be careful before you fit it that there is no debris inside it. You would need an endoscope to do this properly and it's not something I have.

Why not give Bell Intercoolers in USA a call and see what they could do a full bay for.

There are many options.
