Full lock on steering with 19 inch wheels

Just bought a 2007 987S with 19 inch Carrera S alloys, 7,000 miles on clock - when on full lock, tyres try stepping to side resulting in what can only be described as being akin to having square wheels, not a nice experience and obviously wouldn't do the tyres any good if done regularly.
Mentioned to OPC whilst in for a couple of recalls but they said this was "normal" - spoils the car as I never had this problem with my 986S with 18 inch Carreras.
I had a Cayman coutesy car also with 19 inch wheels and this did the same thing.
Has anyone else had this problem and can OPC do anything about it or are they trying to get out of it by saying it's normal.

My 987S on standard 18s does exactly the same thing - I have been meaning to mention it to the OPC for ages

Its a 'characteristic' of 19" wheels and the relative distances of the arcs of the inside and outside wheels (there's a technical term but can't remember it !). Mines done it from day one, its a bit disconcerting, but my front tyres are over 3 years and 22k miles old and show no signs of additional wear n tear.

Had this problem with all my cars, had the OPC check it out, and yes they say it's normal !!
