Yesterday I completed the full Porsche Driving Expererience. Like many, I had previously done the 'Taster'. This full half day was 200% better. For a start, we (the customer) chose exactly what we wanted to do. If you wanted just to hammer the handling circuit all day, that was fine. Moreover, unlike the Taster day, one got a fast run down an actual Silverstone straight. Sadly, no track time was available.
What I chose to concentrate on was firstly learning how to steer the car by throttle alone (on the slippery track). Then I spend a lot of time on the handling circuit putting what I had learnt into practice. I also got great instruction on really how to use PDK, which included how to change gear using the throttle. At the end of the day I was knackered.
Whilst this Experience is not a half day at MIRA or Millbrook, it actually complimented that day. I enjoyed it, though might not have felt like paying £550 for the half day, no matter how good the food was []
Finally, one got the opportunity to use the facilities of the fitness centre, though I gave that a miss. After all, I am a lost cause.
