Hi
I have just brought my first Porsche a 1990 964 C2.
All is well apart from an aroma of exhaust fumes when I have the heater on for more than a few minutes. The fumes are not too bad until you slow down, say for a roundabout, then they become very noticeable.
I presume that it is a problem with the heat exchangers. I cannot detect any blowing from the exhaust from outside the car, but if the hole is within the heat exchanger section, then would this be noticeable?
I take it that there is no way of determining which exchanger it maybe that is at fault?
Is there anything else that maybe causing this problem? It looks like a relatively easy job to change the exchangers myself.
Any help or advice much appreciated?
Regards
Ross
