whenever i open the windows or sunroof the car smells badly of exhaust fumes......any advice on how to stop this....its really awful....

or rear lights not sealed properly

- play a hose on the rear of the car & see if you find any water in the various wells in the boot

not perfect but greatly sorted with a big jar of vaseline around cracks/gaps in the seal....thanks everyone.

Vaseline is a petroleum based product and will actually eat in to your rubber seal over time [&o]

A new OEM seal from places like http://www.forestfine.co.uk/ is around £40 or you can buy seals from a local motor factors with a similar profile for around £3 a metre and I think you'll need circa 6 metres

HELLO

exhaust fumes are a nightmare, I get to work and the kids say: MR B ?? you smell of racing driver , or mechanic, or you smell funny ...[&:]

when windows and sun roof shut, no smell, open a window or sunroof and that it... ( i mean it's so bad sometimes i feel intoxicated ... )

so should I be looking at the boot seal ? Ive noticed i find water in the compartments on each side of spare wheel ... could it be the light boxes too ?? as some1 says further up... THANKS

opening a window or the sunroof causes the pressure in side the car to drop & will suck in fumes from the rear of the car

Hatch seal & Lights are the most common - check for any other gaps or holes

Water in the wells is either that, or the drains from the hatch locks or sunroof are not connected properly
