Anyway, in a slightly more long winded way -
- I have my own website that lives on the internet somewhere on a 'shared' computer (aka a Server).
- All the pictures on my website, plus all the text etc, have to be uploaded from my home PC to the Server.
- Having done that, anyone who goes to my website, or knows the web address (URL) of the image (unlikely) can see it.
- I obviously know the address of the image I have uploaded - in this case its....... http://www.asjmotorsport.freeserve.co.uk/images/snow964.jpg
- You could see this by right clicking on the image (or any other image on the web) and chose Properties on the popup menu.
- Once you know this address (URL) you can create a link to it from any other page on the internet (eg a post in this forum)
- In this forum you need to click the Image button when typing your post - this will insert the word 'image' in square bracket followed by '/image' in square brackets.
- Once you have these, just put the full address of the actual picture between the middle square brackets
- eg [im*ge]http://www.asjmotorsport.freeserve.co.uk/images/snow964.jpg[/im*ge]
This is all irrelevent, ie just for info, if you do not have somewhere on the web to save your photos. If its any consolation, I dont' know how to put an image on as an attachment like you have done!
Hope that makes a little more sense - and apologies if its confused you further!
I can relate to the pic of your car - I have my Impreza in a similar state behind the garage. Given its currently on Pirelli Corsa 'semi slicks' decided it would be suicide to take that one out in the snow. Roll on the thaw.....

You upload them to a hosting site e.g. photobucket.com and then copy the http.... link under the photo and then paste it into the picture pop up box when writing your post.
BTW although I've not been out in the 964, my boxster daily driver has been 'interesting' on the snow. I've found that when some numpty wants to drive on my backside, a little more throttle and the consequent tail slide soon makes them back off []
Not entirely sure how I did it, but there was a option at the bottom of the message window to include a pic so I tried that. Original pic from my phone (5MP) was too large so I had to resize it to half size to make it fit.
amazing fun at about 10mph with no cars or people to hit (although the train full of people had a good point as they went past!)[8|]

Living in Reading we have had lots of snow in our close, so far the porsche is the only one that's managed to get out to get supplies.
Most of the neighbours have new'ish cars but couldn't get up the slight incline to the main road (not that that's bean salted either!).
They didn't think the Porsche would do it but she drove straight out and back down again without any problem.
We all went out on Wednesday and cleared the road but more snow came down that night, so we gave up (Picture attached).
Since the snow, before xmas, we've done most of our trips out in the porsche, I am getting pretty good at going around corners just using the throttle.
Our nearest salted road is just over a mile away so it's slippy slide all the way.
Haven't sean any other porsches on the road though???

Scariest journey ever....
Though on the flipside I managed to catch a a dry day on the snake pass when it re-opened[][][][]
My beloved C2 is currently covered awaiting a dry day for some fun and a warm day for some tinkering[8D]

No video or action photos - out on my own I'm afraid.
Don't think I'll be taking it out today as new snow far too wet - will get in everywhere compared the nice powdery stuff last week.
I noticed from your website that you started rallying at the SSMC on the NUMC rallies in the mid 80s. I was a regular from 1983 to 1987 at the SSMC, although it never developed, mores the pity. I also helped with the running of the club on the committee & used to represent SSMC at NUMC regional meetings.
Did you ever go down to Owler Bar stadium carpark for an autotest in the snow, probably 85 or 86?
This was a massive carpark with only a floodlight in the middle, in the winter when it was covered in snow we were able top hold 'safe' autotests. I was the one in a Mini Clubman Estate doing the slow demonstration runs, although I may have gone the wrong way round a couple of times!
TBH, I can't say I recognise you! Although you may remember Henry, who had one of the first 944s at the time, I used to hang around with him. Do you remeber the mad Irishman? Can't remember his name now though...
Happier times []

SSMC was the only thing that kept me at uni.....I hated my course! I have competed in rallies almost without a break ever since. I started there in oct 86 and left in jun 88. 1st year I had a black mini with white roof that morphed into the red mini in the picture for 2nd year - both pretty much bog std 998cc. Final year I went rwd and got the blue escort 1300. Escort has ssmc sticker on rear side windows. Mini has them on rear 'firewall' - must have removed them from the glass for some reason.
I remember only doing 1 autotest at that car park - was dry and dusty thanks to a light covering of small gravel - ideal! Not sure how come I only did it once?
Did compete in most of the SSMC 12 cars though - did win a couple for sure. Remember first win was on a very snowy night in the black mini.
Do remember Henry - he had the tough decision of chosing between a quattro or a 944 for his 21st birthday present!
I remember Phil Moore - very tall chap from Ireland. He ran a sunbean on 'proper' road rallies. He co-drove for me a few times in the escort. There was another chap too on the committe from Ireland but can't remember his name. Also Sandra (?) from over there - she rallied a slightly less antique mini than mine.
Indeed good old days (apart from the course!) and certainly shaped where I have spent most of my money since...
I used only to do the scatter rallies myself, with fairly modest sucess, although I did better as a navigator with a decent driver (Neil I think he was, with an Escort) next to me.
When the Clubman Estate went the way of all things (backwards into a hedge on an icy road) I had a Mini 1000 to which I added a 12G295 head (pucker Cooper head which I still have, if you know anyone who wants one, must be worth a few quid now I guess), MG Metro inlet manifold (still got that too) and a straight through exhaust. Used to be quite quick, for a Mini, make nice noises & use a lot of petrol. Had a nasty case of nearly terminal understeer on occasion.
Come to think of it, I remember Sandra, (weren't she & Phil Moore an item?) & her Mini now, I seem to remember we were chasing her in Henry's 944 3 up (with Glynn, a Fiat 500 nut). The map showed a clear 90 left, but she thought she could out run us and went straight on into a brick wall. How we laughed!!! Mini see, terminal understeer again!
Happy days....are we supposed to get a room now? [&:]

.... Has a modern look to it while still having the classic shape!
Agree , in certain lights it looks more silver, however your first pic captures the distinct (bluey 'polar' silver) colour difference.
