Fun on the highway

Had a run in on the A41 with a nice red GT3 today... only used 70% throttle, didn't want to risk more with the lean AFR reading...however, it was very interesting....:)

er.. I was travelling at speed, he had been behind for a few miles, I just thought it was a normal 911.. at a safe spot I pulled into the inner lane and watched to see what he would do, we are already a substantial amount over the speed limit...did i say that?.. i deny it...:) Anyway, as expected he began to approach at a good speed, clearly thinking it would be an easy pass and show me who's boss. I waited until he was coming close behind and as he got near my rear quarter I pressed that little pedal a little further, he managed to get just ahead, half a cars length before my speed built up rapidly and then overhauled him again...Of course, he could have gone faster still, but then so could I, a lot faster. data log showed 71% throttle applied. It was only after this when I slowed and let him go (i was exiting at the next exit) that I then saw the GT3 badge. As I said it was very interesting and enlightening. Perhaps he's a member of this forum and can say how much throttle he was using, I bet it was more than I...:)

Nice one Pete ??
I love the new GT3 and Im not a 911 lover ... but that’s one that I’d like to own ??

Afraid I didn't take notice of it's year..I doubt it was new but hoenstly have no idea...it was red and had GT3 on the rear....they all look the same to me...:)

I live near the A1, and see quite a lot of unmarked stuff with hidden blues. I'm careful about the speed I overtake at on A roads, and I don't overtake multiple cars on B roads, without having a good look at them all first. Even then there's a chance a Dash Cam Warrior will want to report you. Making progress is right time, right place only now.

I see a lot too, they are usually easy to spot but yes you need to be aware. I have always driven on my mirrors, I can tell you what's behind me at any given time. As for B roads..I rarely overtake anything, I can only think of one occasion when I overtook more than one vehicle following a tractor. In that situation I overtake slowly just in case one of the cars in front doesn't use his/her mirrors properly, it was a long straight road. I also do not drive at a constant high speed passing slower cars down the outside lane on a motorway. These things can cause accidents, my bouts of speed are shortlived and when it's safe to do so.

KW's, Centre Gravity setup and Michelin PS tyres have little benefit away from B roads for me.

I bet he wouldn't have even seen your tailpipe if you had been driving an S2.
