Fusebox Woes

Hi Gents
I have a quick observation for you all... You all know that I worked on a "Lilac" 924 in Mayo. (which is now complete and going well I might add ). One of the issues that I had was the fusebox. All the electrics worked fine while the fuse box was out . Once you put it back in place the indicators and lights stopped. I ended up replacing a ball of wiring behind the fuse box itself which had become "brittle"

Well....
I have come across another 924 which is a 1981 automatic with much the same problem... ! Only this time the engine stops....! [] There is a common theme in all of this..... The 1978 and the 1981 both spent a long period outside at various stages and this seems to have made the loom brittle. When the fusebox is put back in position the wiring seems to "loose contact". I am going to look at the auto on Saturday and see what I can do with it. Looks like its passenger seat out (thanks for the advice BTW...[;)]) and lying on the floor again.

Has anyone experienced a similar issue with their 924 ?.. Or do they only do this in Ireland [:D]

I had a problem with my headlights a year or so ago which baffled the AA, I took it to an electrical apocathary and they added a 'bridge' to the fusebox which has worked fine ever since.

I'm not sure what witchcraft a 'bridge' is but it worked [:)]
