FUSES

I am looking to replace all the fuses - tried to order from the OPC and they tell me there are 7 different kinds but they don't know how many of each! (I said just get me the full set) Look in the manual, they said, but there is not a listing there. I have, of course, seen the list below but mine is a 95 year model . In short does anyone know what are the fuses one has to order to get a full set? Thank you.

There's a fuse chart for the 92-95 model here: https://www.928gt.com/t-9295fuse.aspx

The Porsche part numbers are:

999 607 001 00 - fuse 1 AMP
999 607 004 00 - fuse 5 AMP
999 607 005 00 - fuse 7.5 AMP
N 017 131 11 - fuse 10 AMP
999 607 007 00 - fuse 15 AMP
N 017 131 13 - fuse 20 AMP
999 607 009 00 - fuse 25 AMP
999 607 010 00 - fuse 30 AMP

They are between 38p and 55p each.

Just talked to OPC and they now tell me that they could order them but no idea when they would come in (they are on back order) and anyway they are standard fuses available from Halfords, etc.!

Update: tried Halfords - not very useful: they said they have 2-3 sizes of each and to bring in the old fuses in to match them! Most usefully though I had a most helpful e-mail from Brett (Ainley)pointing me to e-bay (hope I am not breaching any rules here): where one can get (very reasonably) idiot-proof fuses that light up when blown. I am not quite sure how to insert the link (will do so if someone tells me how) but will be happy to e-mail it to anyone who is interested. I have no connection or financial interests in this.

I did see that (the sticky fuse chart) but wasn't sure if or to what extent it covered the 95 model year. By the by, as for the Porsche part numbers I was told by the OPC today that those numbers are no longer applicable - they are no longer available from Germany but replacement ones are being provided by Porsche GB. True or not? I don't know - this is what I was told. The thought crossed my mind that just ordering 40 fuses, with several part numbers, is not a fun task and there certainly isn't much money in it.

have you looked at the back of the fuse/relay board yet ? my one was like a 1930's telephone switchboard gone mad !
good luck

The part numbers I quoted are current, as they are the same fuses as used in a multitude of Porsches, including my 996, so I expect they just couldn't be bothered. I find it quite unbelieveable that an OPC wouldn't carry fuses in stock, and would have to order them from Germany. Personally, I would be outraged.

They are standard blade fuses and any half-decent car accessory shop or motor factors will have them in stock. If you are unsure of the size, why not just pull out one of the less important ones, take it in and match it up. I'm not sure why you would want a complete set. Most people would have a spare or two of each rating, just in case.
