Glad you all had a good run out - was a bit too far for us to join in (100 miles to starting point) - can you try to come a bit further north next time - thanks.

For a consolation had a good run over the moors today to Whitby and Sandsend - perfect weather - the Grand Turk still anchored in the harbour.

hey john, myself and a few others were discussing the possibility of a future run in your neck of the woods yesterday, maybe take in specialist cars as well......the fylingdales road is one of my favourites, thats when the sheds arent about[&:]

unfortunatley, i aint that conversant with the surrounding back wack roads in that area, could you advise a route/routes. neil, your an east riding man, any suggestions???? perhaps one for the club nite tommora, which, i dont think i will be able to make[][][] one to think about.....

regards g

and wot about finishing off with fish and chips in whitby....god i love lard[:D]

Hi John - good idea

As Glenn said in his post we were discussing a run in East / North Yorks or to the 'seaside' - all we need is someone to organise it who knows the area. Any volunteers ?

Fish and Chips in Whitby sounds great.

Happy motoring - Randolph Coward

We have pretty regular runs utilising the absolute best of the wide open East Yorkshire Wolds and North Yorks Moors roads, and we occasionally have a foray down into North Lincs as they have some fantastic sweeping open roads too.

Not for the faint hearted though and a modicum of driving talent is definitely a pre-requisite!

However, these are pre-breakfast runs. We set off at the crack of dawn and usually end up a couple of hours later at some fine breakfast hostelry [:D]

We did one last year where we went up to Holbeck Hall near Ravenscar for breakfast. Stunning roads and scenery.

If anyone is seriously interested then let me know. Failing that, I'll hopefully see some of you at Monk Fryston tomorrow night - mine will be the grey 525 Tourer with a dirty great Pistonheads sticker across the back [:D]

So how do you keep up with StuB ?[;)]

We met at Silverstone the other Sunday [:D]
did you find the car you were after??

Rita and I will be happy to organise a run and liaise with John at Specialist Cars as perhaps a starting point - good time probably end of February early March. More places open on the coast by then.

Burriana must have an amphibious Porsche - Holbeck Hall Hotel went into the sea many years ago! I think he meant the Raven Hall Hotel - good views but hotel a bit dismal last time we had a coffee there.

Please discuss it Wednesday's meeting and let me know.

John

I KNEW it didn't look right when I typed it! Raven hall Hotel it is ... and it wouldn't be my first choice for a weekend stay, but for breakfast after you have got out of bed at 5am and done a pretty brisk run up over the moors, it was great. We even had our own private dining room over looking the bay.

So how do you keep up with StuB ?

In the Ferrari, only just ... in the 3.2 Carrera, not a chance I! [:D]

Yep, found a really nice 3.2 Carrera, it is being delivered this weekend.

As suggested as possible meeting venue, Specialist Cars of Malton, will be pleased to see all members and provide refreshments for any day we pick for our next run out.

Will keep an eye on weather and seek out possible lunch stop.

Hi John -

What about Sunday 5 March ?

The members 'down south' could meet at Ferrybridge services on A1 and then meet you and others at Specialist Cars.

Anyone interested ?

Happy motoring - Randolph Coward

Good idea there Randolph. We can bring it up at clubnight which is on the 1st to get more support from anyone that isn't on here.

Regards,

Neil & Lizzie

The 5th March seems o.k. for us - will get together a good route over the moors and find a lunch stop - will test the market in the next week or so. Possible stop in village north of Whitby which was recommended in Yorkshire Post but must sample food first!

John

Hi All,

Irene and I should be up for this one, it's been about a year since we went anywhere near Whitby.
The drives up there are really spectacular.

Count us in; subject to weather.

Regards

Adam & Irene

I suppose that as I live in Malton and work in Whitby I might have to come along and show my face! It should give me enough time to fit the H+R coilover set that I ordered today. The A169 is my daily commute and as such I come to know it fairly well over the last 8 years its a quick road but there are a couple of corners that can catch you out and there is one in particular that you can take quicker than you think but I'll divulge to any one perpared to listen

Looks like there is about a dozen interested parties here - would almost be criminal not to join in the fun [;)]

Are we still on for the 5th March?
