Has anyone seen or heard anything about my old Black '44 Turbo, reg: G 161 WKJ ?? It seems to have disappeared off the face of the planet [8|]!! Where's it gone??

last MOT

[*]Vehicle make PORSCHE[*]Vehicle model 944[*]Date first used 31 December 1989[*]Fuel type Petrol[*]Colour Black

MOT history of this vehicle
[*]Test date 10 June 2014[*]Expiry date 9 June 2015[*]Test Result Pass[*]Odometer reading 184,826 miles[*]MOT test number 2160 5196 4415
so the MOT ran out in June 2015 and not been redone, so put away or tracked, or destroyed

Hi Col', as Martin says, in the 968 section under the thread title "viewing a 968 club sport". Page 4 if I remember correctly [:)]. Let me know what you think mate. Martin, defo' NOT destroyed mate! Ten grand's worth of almost new upgrades [][8D][:D]!!!

Yeah, sort of.

I'd say a 968 is a nicer everyday drive than a 944 turbo. A 968 turbo has to be right up there with any 964/33 turbo for a lot less money though.

just because you can drive does not mean that the person who bought it could handle the power.

Looks nice Pete. i didn't know the 968 section was still going. I thought they had both come over here. :)

Tax ran out in December 2014 and its not been re taxed, and its not shown as SORN so........

Forgot to say, 968cs all paid for and, I will be bringing Him home over the next few weeks. Then off to Mr Mitchell [:D]!! Just got to get the scaffold down and, garage cleared out before I do. Exciting times ahead methinks [;)][8D][:D].

Would it have to be SORN if someone just wanted to put it to bed, "Mothballed" ?
Latest rules are you either tax the car or SORN it, doing neither is not an option, unless of course you're scrapping it, which again you need to advise. As its still 'listed' I don't think its been scrapped- begs the question as to whether the current owner knows they should have SORN'd it. I wonder how long before the DVLA start contacting last listed keepers of such cars to remind them, and threaten fines. Be interesting to know if its still insured, and yes i know there's an online database, but as its not my car.........

Unless it's getting a turbo conversion I still predict it will be for sale within a year...

Could have been exported ?

Registration changed onto a private plate, perhaps?

From what I can see the DVLA systems follow the vehicles current reg, not former ones - well at least on ours it finds the personal reg, but not its original reg, so not moved to a private plate. As for export, well could have been but if so they haven't bothered to tell DVLA.

i bet its sat in a garage for some reason either awaiting some work, or maybe the owner is just too busy or working overseas or something similar, or maybe it had a prang and is awaiting repair.
