Just curious to see if anyone from the club/forum has owned my S2 convertible before???? Reg is G598JEY

Do you know any previous registration numbers? These cars will have often had private plates on them in the past and hence someone may not recognise a number that has only been on the car for a few years.

(My S2 is on it's sixth registration number, although has only had three owners. Each owner had a private plate on it and it was issued with a new, age-related plate for each sale.)

Oli.

Good point!! just checked through the history and there is a p/p no.B4 VVO also N1J 944 also A4 NLJ also G394 YLY a fair few but not to sure about G394 YLY as the original plate from new is G598JEY which is not transferable.
oh and its had 12 owners including me, most were within the first 5 years...

funny my 944 has had 19 owners!

there is nothing wrong with it. But I guess some people just liked the idea of having a 944 on the drive to show the neighbours

then sell it when it starts costing them money. Mine has been great ( sunroof leak I am fixing ) other than that I love it. Nice drive wished I had one years ago !

My Lux had, IIRC, 5 owners in the first few years. It does seem that plate changes could be counted as an ownership change back then, so some have more owners on the V5 than in reality.

I was reassured by the fact that it was in one family though. It went from company car, to the guy's wife, and then son: they wouldn't have kept it if there were problems, I suppose. [:)]

If you download the V888 form from the DVLA website and complete it and send off with a £5 cheque they will send you all the owners of your car with copies of every V5 and sometimes the original Dealer completion form for the first owner.

Link to form : https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/206701/V888x2.pdf

In reasons you put "to complete service history of the car I own"

It takes 3-4 weeks for them to come back to you but worth having as you can sometimes fill in gaps in the vehicles service history [:)]
