Looking on the Piston Heads site (I think) recently, a post mentioned 18 months. I collected my car today from AFN after its 12k service + extras, and the Service Advisor stated the same sort of time.
I must have had mine replaced at least 4 times in the 15 years I've owned her - which is better than 18 months but not good enough in my (ignorant) opinion. All lid-struts, I believe, were genuine Porsche - all maintenance work is done by OPC Reading, OPC Cardiff and WrighTune.
Another post on PH recommended Type911 - I've ordered these ...
Quantity Product no. Name Unit Price 2 piece(s) 3253 993 Rear Lid Shock Aftermarket Heavy Duty £8.00 2 piece(s) 3249 993 Front Hood Shock Aftermarket Heavy Duty £8.00
Incidentally, the drive back from AFN this morning was a dream. She feels like new. I'll post details of the work done later.
P.S. Sorry about the double post - finger trouble. I couldn't find a Delete Post button to rectify my goof. EDIT - Found the Delete Post function but too late to delete it - it now has posts.
