Gear Boot Replacement.

Hello again guys and gals heres another of my silly questions for you. I want to replace my current porsche gear knob with an aftermarket MOMO one, but the current one has leather that covers the whole thing, i have a new leather boot but it the 924 type which goes up but not over the top bit. Has anybody replaced theirs and how it done/what boot do i need.

Most after market gear knobs will not fit on your 944 as they are screw fittings, where as the 944 is a push fitting. You can either buy a new leather gaiter and recover your old gear knob (which is a pig to fit ! ), or get an exchange gear knob from places like Porschapart.
