Gear Change Smoke

Hi,

Took the car out after two weeks of it not moving, after about 20-25mins decided to stretch its legs a little and on changing gears at one point I got a fairly large plume of blueish smoke, couldn't get it to do it again. Oil pressure is around 1.5 at idle, 3 at about 2000rpm and gets to about 4.5 when accelerating hard. Have read a couple of threads on other forums that say it probably isn't anything to worry about, any thoughts ?

Thanks in advance,

Adam.

Blue smoke is generally associated with burning oil Adam. It's probable that some oil collected in the bores while your car was laid-up for a couple of weeks (one of the downsides of the flat-6 arrangement) and it took a little while to work its way through the system when you were out driving.

I wouldn't have thought that it's anything to worry about unless it occurs on a regular basis.

Thanks for the reply, hopefully nothing to worry about and will keep an eye on it.

Thanks Adam.
