Hey Guys

A quick question on originality, ive got a 1988 3.2 sport, im changing my gear knob due to it looking tierd, however, the one porsche has supplied is leatherette.... My old one is plastic finish?! Could my one had the leatherette fall off over the years? Or are they plastic... Need to keep it original of course!

Advice would be appreciated..

Cheers

My one is plastic but had leather over it.
Now the leather is off its white hard plastic beneath
hope that helps
Cliff

Thanks Cliff

My is just black hard plastic, but research on other sites indicates it was probably leather... But i just wanted confirmation... Many thanks

Thanks fellas

Ill keep the genuine once from porsche centre reading then, looks like ive been driving it all along with a 'duff' plastic one...

Yeah as I thought. Just checked out in the garage and my old 3.2 knob that came off my car is 3 quarters white hard plastic, the top quarter black plastic with a G50 top disc in black .As I recall the leather came off.
Simple re leather I guess.

All G50 knobs were leather, as you now know, many cars now have the naked plastic version!
