Gear knob

Dunno, but I bought an Italvolanti adapter to fit a Momo steering wheel to my S2 the other day ...

... and it's GREAT!

(Serious answer ... I'd have thought you take the standard knob off and tap a thread of the relevant type onto the top of the gearstick thus allowing you to screw the Momo knob on.)

Oh ... interesting, I didn't know that.

Assuming you want your knob to be a decently tight fit then I guess you are looking at either taking the shaft off and lathing it down to a circular cross-section, or fitting some kind of adaptor ... which brings us back to your original question ...

To which the answer is, "I'm sorry, I don't know."

I would advise against it - the standard knob has a rubber damper at the base and without it you will get nasty vibrations and rattles. Someof the specialists used to do an aftermarket one that fitted, I bought one at a show and took it back 5 minutes after fitting it - it was nasty.

I use a shorter shifter, originally sold by Lindsey Racing, with an aluminium spherical Momo gear knob. I considered taking it off as I did not like it at first but I got used to it and now quite like it.
It does its work well and there aren't that many more vibrations/noises, except perhaps sometimes in fourth gear - but then my turbo is already pretty noisier than the usual 944.
I can't remember if the shifter has any rubber for soundproofing, though.
