Gear lever gaitors

I'm going to need another one of these. I've had one from ebay in the past (2nd hand) but there are alot of remakes too. Does anyone have any experience of these or am I better off waiting for a decent used one.
Is it likely that Exeter OPC could help?
( I could just ring them!)
Cheers
David

My wife bought one of those sleeves off ebay for me last year, thought it would be a right bugger to fit but actually the hardest part was getting the cap off the knob without damaging it. Pulled the new sleeve over, took my time putting it all back together to avoid creases & it looks & works just fine. The leather isn't as tight as I'd like directly under the bulge of the knob and the new leather doesn't seem to be as thick as the original but it makes the car look a lot less shabby than my old worn & torn one did [:)]

Depends what colour you're after......I wanted a replacement(for my old black one) in linen leather to match the interior - got mine from Prestige Parts. They offer an exchange fitting service but you need to return your old gear knob - £25 surcharge IIRC.

Not the cheapest option, but highly recommended as the fit was perfect and avoided frigging around trying to prevent creases etc. Changing the gear knobs takes about 2 mins

I got mine off ebay 12months ago and they are fine(certainly improves the look)the cap was the most awkward to fit otherwise it was straight forward.

I've done a couple over the years and agree with the above comments - then cap is the tricky bit (both getting it off and putting it back).

Well worth doing.

You don't need to be too precious getting the leather just right as it will smoth its self out after a bit.
