Gear oil, Swepco?

Hi! Just wondering if anyone has tried the Swepco 201 gear oil. I am changing mine and wondering if it is as good as many people say. Seen other oils of similar spec including Fuchs Titan and Silkolene BOA. Has anybody any ideas or recommendations, oh, and I have 915 transmission. Cheers

A mechanic friend of mine swears by this, he put in a 3.2 G50 recently and it made a massive difference, when my car goes over there for a service I'll be having it put in for sure.
Alan.

I use Swepco 210 in my 925 (sportomatic 915) box similar to 201 but more expensive with a higher operating temp. Will go back to 201 at the next fill up both are excellent once warmed up.

Agreed - but only to a point. I have this in my car and it performed really well for a few hundred miles. It then "settled" down a bit and now performs better than pre-Swepco, but not as good as when first installed.

The CS has a G50 with LSD as standard, and the LSD works fine irrespective.

I've actually gone for a fully synthetic oil. I know people advise against this in the 915 but I have spoken with an oil supplier and they think this will be superior. I've gone with Silkolene Syn5 75w-90. It's a race oil which is fine for the road and GL4-GL5 specified. I also use their engine oil which is an ester based synthetic. I have used it in my 200SX and now just about to put it in the 911 and it is excellent. I'll let people know how I get on with the oil. Cheers
