Gear selector

After giving it a day out ready for a first service tomorrow (10,000 miles) the gear selector ceased up when arriving home after Christmas lunch (R7) - this is the second time. Telephoned Porsche Assistance who wanted to pick it right away but delayed that until morning. Has anyone else encountered this problem - mine is tiptronic box.

It may be a faulty brake switch. Try depressing the brake pedal, if your brake lights don't come on, then this may be a sign that the brake switch isn't working - the car's electronics do not think you have depressed the brake pedal, and hence will not allow you to move the 'tip lever. That's what happened to my car, and the replacement was less than £30 IIRC.

Good luck.
