Gear Shifter & Knob UpGrade Report

It all had started with the nice 997 gear knob at http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=249117
but nobody could guarantee that it would fit the 996tt and that would have been a very expensive mistake.
Then this appeared about the improved 997 gear shift at http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=369046
and everything fall into place.
Because it took longer for the knob to arrive GT One, http://www.gt-one.co.uk, first fitted the shifter (with the old gear knob) and over the last weekend I drove to Reims (France) and back.
The shifter improved the gear change by about 50%. Very good value for money. [:D]
Yesterday I fitted the new gear knob and that improved the feel 100%, plus it looks the money and changes the cabin look completely. Well worth the money. [;)]
Although quite an expensive combination, I love it. [:)][:)][:)]

By the way, there is a speed checking point, returning to Calais on the A26 just after the CALAIS 49Km blue sign and before the last toll boxes. The device is set very close to the road surface on the RHS and just visible after passed, with the police car hidden in the bushes. Road Angel plus did NOT pick it up... I was lucky that a lorry driver had flashed me couple of miles before.
