Any of you guys go an idea where is the best place to get it? Either a DIY one or complete exhance replacement. Ideas on prices too.

You beat me to it, Fen [:)]

I was Looking for his website. I bought one from him at an event about 3 years ago and very pleased with it.

I've had two from him, one in linen from Highclere 2001 and one in cobalt that I picked up from his workshop nearly two years ago. I have had him fit them for me in both cases though; exchange then fitted to my knob (oo-er) while I waited. I think he charges about £45 exchange but they're £30 or less on eBay. I have been well pleased with both.

Keith Pink at Prestige Parts. Buy it from him on eBay, he trades as kpporsche.

You get better discount if you call him Ken [8|]

oops back on topic. I managed to get one for £22 on his ebay auctions, very easy to fit yourself.

I agree. Easily done yourself in an hour.

If you are thinking of changing the plastic insert (they do a nice aluminium look one that would look good with linen), then do this at the same time - it would be hard to get back out without damaging the new gator later.

Ive been contemplating doing one of these for some time...

How easy is it to get a GOOD finish around the top.?? Ie so as not to "buckle" up the leather.???

Dave,

It's easy enough to do - you just need a bit of patience.

I got mine on without any creasing of the leather, but as I said, it took a good hour or so to do.

It's worth getting the leather reasonably warm before you start to make it more supple. The hard bit is getting it gathered correctly so the insert fits on well.

Seems Keith Pink is around as more of his stuff got listed today on e-bay. His phone number is (01752) 786893
