Can anyone identify what this is off?
I am told a 924 - but that is all I have

Thanks in advance for any help

That looks like 924 turbo box, 016/Z (also Carrera GT) note the cranked web on the input end. The getrag box for the normally aspirated 924 with the m474 sprtpack is similar , but the web is straight (IIRC) and the input shaft is 20mm dia. whereas the turbo input shaft is 25mm, and that is probably the best way to check, as I cannot be completely certain which box has the cranked web. Certainly not 016/ H as the gear clusters are the wrong side of the axle line.

Yes, it makes you one lucky SOB. wish I had LSD for my 220 hp conversion. you can easily check. by hand with 60% slip it would be near impossible to rotate to hubs in opposite directions, which is what does happen in a normal diff. Infact if you turn one hub the other turns backwards automatically. Now ask how much of a cowson it is to get the box out.

Thanks again

Unfortunatley it is not mine
If it has an LSD maybe I should see if I can find a G50, flip the dif, and offer it to the current owner! [;)]

If it's an LSD box off a 2.0 924 that will be denoted by 4Q in the serial number, or if it's off a 924S then it will have 7Q in the serial number.

It won't be off the 924 S because the gear cluster is in front of the axle line and there is no bell housing.
