Gearbox Oil

I'm in the process of changing fluids and filters in a bid to get the car back on the road, oil change and fuel filter are both done but I am stuck with the gearbox oil...

What oil do you recommend I put back in and is there a special formulation for gearboxes with LSD's?

Cannot find anything in the archives and head hurts from looking on the net.

Cheers

Ollie

Don't you have a manual???

If it helps the GT3 uses Mobilube PTX 75w/90 which is a synthetic for gearboxes and trans combined. A special brew for Porsche I am led to believe. Porsche wanted £175 +vat to change the 3.8 litres.

I hunted everywhere to find a stockist and was told Porsche were the only outlet. But I found a supplier in County Oil Group, Runcorn - £174.64 for 20 litres to your door, which will do me 5 changes for just under £35 a go.... Big saving for just undoing a plug and putting it back in again.....

Opie Oils do a similar one I understand but I was concerned about any excuses on the warranty despite being told their Silkolene stuff was approved.... Try Opie...
