Gearbox spares?

Got myself a 220T tonight! wooo!

anyway... can someone tell me what places will sell spares to rebuild a gearbox (with LSD)?

Not sure whats up with it as ive not looked inside but i know its creamed, im thinking either its engaged two gears or one of the main bearings has collapsed. Rather horrible and loud rattling when idling but stops when the clutch is depressed.

This 'may' not be as bad as you think.

To some extent, all 944 gearboxes rattle to bu66ery when idle and the clutch is released. Press it to the floor and it goes away. I would listen to others to determine if you have something worse than the norm

i wish i could be that optimistic but im 100% its FUBAR'd, when i say its making a horrible rattling its VERY loud, i wouldn't dare try and move the car its that loud. Apparently it will only move in 3rd.

Exactly the same thing happened to my capri when the main bearings collapsed at the 1st gear end.

I wont know for sure but ill probably start a little thread when i get the car home about progress and whats gonna be done etc as its in need of some loving for sure! just im unsure where to get rebuild and spares from for the gearbox? as im pretty sure i will need them. Noticed theres a turbo box on ebay but its £400 reserve not met! Id rather spend £400 on parts and know its right.

I have a non-LSD and non-oil-cooler T220 gearbox lying at the back of my garage. It is lightly dismantled and complete bar the main opening to the diff that I needed to rebuild the gearbox of my S2.
You can have it for free if you feel like coming down to Paris to pick it up.

Well its funny you should mention that, My dad will be going to Paris this month or next month.

So if your serious that you don't need it then we would be delighted to take it off your hands!

cheers [:)]

Any news on what you're eventually doing with the car ?
I'd rather the gearbox I gave your father may be of good use ...

I've got one only its in China lol[:D][:D]
funny how any time you find just the thing you want its the other side of the planet .

If the selection has gone it could have selected a forward and a reverse gear at the same time . Happened to one of my cars once. have you tried to push it with the engine off and in gear ? what kind of noise do you get then ?

oops just seen how old this thread is . He's probably fixed the car and sold it by now lol[:D]
