ORIGINAL: boulderman Hope someone on the forum can help. The gearstick Knob came off during a gear change. It was easy to put back on but now the gaiter won't attach to the bottom on the gearstick knob. I don't know if it's broken or just requires a little know how to get it to re attach before I have a dealer look at it! Kind regards Al
Should clip back on, does the gaiter reach the clips?

Thanks for the quick reply. Yes the gaiter reaches the stick knob but it does not click in and stay. It goes into place and feels like it can rotate in the 'sleeve' but does not hold itself up. I'll get a camera on the job and post a couple of pictures.

Found the part of the leather gaiter was stopping it clicking into place. Thanks again for the reply and has saved me a visit to the dealers

btw If you turn the 'sleeve' in on itself you will see a plastic 'lock' at the bottom. With the knob pushed fully down this has to be turned through 90 degrees to prevent the knob coming off again.
