Gen. 1 Cayman - Coil pack heat shields?

Cannot believe I have 3 years of ownership under my belt and only just realised my Cayman S may have it's coil pack heat shields missing.

Looking at the parts diagram they are shown and not expensive - anybody got a picture of them fitted?

Am I going mad!?

Hi Chris,

I take it that you are looking at the PET Diagram, I just took a look and although still a bit bleary eyed ( not finished first coffee yet ) I'm not seeing anything for coil pack heat shields.

I certainly don't recall anything of the sort from my Gen1 as the coil packs were always clearly visible unless they are exhaust heat shields below the coil packs which would make sense as the coil packs eventually break down largely due to the heat as the plastic weathers and cracks hardly surprising as the area must get very hot. Heat shields below to deflect the rising heat from the manifolds would make sense and I don't recall seeing the manifolds when looking to the cylinder heads.

Thanks Kevan

I may well be imagining that this is something when indeed it's not!

Part no. 50 on this drawing

Chris, they aren't shown in the PET Diagram that I have I've sent it to your email

Tried again and it appears the PDF file is too large to send and the copy I have is for an 06 model, I tried reducing it but still too large, when I go onto the Porsche genuine parts catalogue and do a search the Gen1 Cayman ( 987C ) does have the shield but it is for the 08 model so just fitted on the late Gen1 not the earlier versions.
