i love my 997.2 with PDK box. Its a pleasure to drive and makes me smile every mile. Good luck on your search.

I have just rejoined pcgb after a 5 year break from the marque, but now I am back and looking for a manual gen.1 turbo Or gen 2 Carrera S .We started off our Porsche life with a 1968 911 S , then a 3.2 S Boxster but as time moves on we thought we would now look for a Turbo - Preferably 997 but would consider a 996 or 997 gen 2 Carrera S. I have read all there is to read on buyers guides etc and am always happy to hear what owners think of the car. Is it a good idea? Mark

If going for a manual (or any) get an over rev check, the autos tend to be a bit of insurance on that score.

Yes it is, and if indeed you are opting for a gen 1 then my personal advice is to opt for a manual as the tiptronic boxes on these cars are way too slushy.:ROFLMAO:

Just considering whether I part with my pride and joy . Its a 2007 997 Gen 1 turbo manual with 24309 miles on the clock. I am the 6th owner although it only really started to be used from owner number 5 in 2011 as prior to this the mileage was minimal and obviously a garage queen.

The car is immaculate and the next minor service is due in May 2017. I did not renew the Porsche warranty last December as I took a view on the premium against likely breakdown.

The car has had a check completed for over revs and there are no ignitions in ranges 5 and 6. Really hasnt missed a beat and only considering selling to make way for a GT4.

Car kept in heated Garage with soft cover and never taken out in the rain.
