Hello Mex,
Is this ordered from a UK dealer?, and are they now aware that the PDK is definately coming?.Has there been a price increase because of the new model?, regards, SIMON./

simon
i was offered a sep build slot by opc hatfield today for a c2s with pdk etc so definately on!!!
nice spec darren

Yep - confirmed as Dyllan UK dealer and I have the order form infront of me with pdk etc.....nominal price increase only.

Thanks Fellas,
Does the new car have the new DI engine with a small power increase?.Really interested, as last week i was taken for a ride in a 997 GT3 RS, the first time in any GT3 for me, and i thought it was a great car.I came away thinking that if the new 997 C2S had a bit more power, coupled with a lightning quick and reliable PDK box, it would nearly be as lively as the GT3.Also Mex, you say you have the PASM with the lowered sport suspension and LSD, is that correct?.I think your spec is a cracker, and set up to be a drivers car.I have a turbo at the moment, but i think a specced car as yours, with the sports exhaust and other tasty bits, would be a tantalising prospect, regards, SIMON.[:D]

Simon,

It has DFI with a large power increase (I am sworn to secrecy but someone will tell you what the rumours say)

PASM Sport with -20mm and LSD is a new option, and a bargain[;)]

GT3 is great, but I wouldn't want to drive it everyday, (If I can get the pennies together I may buy one for the track next year) - the C2S will be perfect!

Darren, nice spec. It's going to be a beauty!

How i'm I going to stay in your rear view mirror now ? [:D]

Nice sporty spec there !!
If you're doing any motorway driving I'd be going for cruise though, unlesss it's standard now - surely not ??
Had the heated steering wheel on an SLK which was great in the colder weather.

I'd agree with the cruise control, its not an expensive option... not only does it aid motorway driving but also during roadworks and other known Talivan ranges you can lock the lower speed without worrying about creeping over the limit.
I'd wouldn't of spec'ed the floor mats, but pushed for free one supplies as a sweetner- possibly the only thing you will get easily.

These are just my opinion, the spec is however looking excellent

Is it going to have 400hp? getting close to the Turbo... Any news as to when the new Turbo is due? hear 2009/2010 or is it to get rid of present orders...

Not 400hp but quick enough.

I take your point re the cruise control guys, I know I should have it but I really don't use it, (I've had it on a few cars and it just sits there). I agree re the average speed cameras, but fortunately I don't drive too many motorways.

Also, and you can see you wears the trousers.... I have got to with £19.50 of my wife impossed budget plus had to buy a new kitchen to get this car so I am being a good boy!

Re the free mats - I am hoping for a free car seat!! To be honest though the one thing I love about paying a fixed price is that you know that you couldn't have got a better deal. I've also had my share of driver days so can't complain - must have had £1500 worth this year!

Official specs: http://www.rennteam.com/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=438469&an=0&page=0#438469

The 3.6 l engine for the standard Carrera/4/Targa 4 models has 345 HP and 390 Nm torque.
The 3.8 l engine for the sportier Carrera S/4S/Targa 4S models has 385 HP and 420 Nm torque.

BTW, the current stock Turbo has 620Nm torque (I have 800Nm in mine [:D]) so the Carreras have nowhere near the 'seat-of-the-pants' acceleration which is all about the torque [:)]
