When the shots of the cayman gen 2 came out I really thought it looked fantastic, especially in the Porsche GB taster vidoe clips but I have just had a look at the boxeter and no offence to oriental people but from the front thats what it looks like, an oriental person.
The back does not look too good either.
Think I prefer the gen 1 cars. I also prefer the gen 1 997 too.
Is it just me.
One other thing non pasm gen 2 cars look like they are on stilts.

I know what you mean. I prefer Heidi Klum to Claudia Schiffer[8D]
Clearly the non PASM gen 2 on stilts is designed for old gits like me - any lower and I couldn't get in it[&:] (I have got PASM, btw![;)])

No matter how fantastic (or not) the new 3.4 dfi may prove to be on my Silverstone outing next week having sat in a brand new Gen 2 yesterday, whilst collecting my Gen 1 from service, I have to confess to being somewhat under whelmed by the few minor physical changes which will soon be replaced by the all new 988 which to the untrained eye will look exactly the same as todays cars :ROFLMAO:

As an aside once I had told the salesman that I wouldn't want pdk or touch screen sat nav he seemed to give the impression then I should wait for the all new 988 as the differences between a Gen 2 manual and Gen 1 manual aren't enough to warrant the extra £28k + it would cost me to switch []

Gen 2 Cayman was in front of me yesterday - at first i thought it was a Z4 coupe - couldn' think of a worse car to be compared too !

When you get such a great shape like the gen 1 987 its a shame that gen 2 looks a bit odd in the flesh. 986 to 987 was such a dramatic but subtle improvement it just hasnt worked for me from gen 1 to 2.
Why does the gen 2 non pasm look so high?

Well, I just took delivery of a 987Gen2 and have to say I think it looks gorgeous though I agree the back isn't as pretty as Gen1. As to whether it is worth getting one now or waiting for the 988, it's hard to say yet but, mechanically, it is a good advance on Gen1 because the 2.9 engine is great. since we now know this one delivers, why take a risk waiting on the next?
